Google Docs in the Classroom

Check out this link to Google Docs for Educators! It's full of ideas, tips, videos, templates and other resources for teachers using Google Docs in the classroom. The Google Apps Education Community is another great resource too! Try this link for spreadsheet templates.

Google docs are great for classrooms. I am surprised at all you can do in Google! The Google project our group just collaborated on was neat and an effective way to work as a group. We collected more information while learning different ways to cover one subject. I really like that I can use a PowerPoint presentation in Google group work. I like that I can set up a document and create a quiz. The quiz was really fun to make and could be used as an effective learning tool for my students. I think the spreadsheet that Rick made was well organized and fun to review. I can see myself using a spreadsheet for my classroom stats. I enjoy Google docs and the collaboration it provides as well as the creative ways/options Google contains to help explore and cover one subject matter. The only bad part about Google docs is that I spent $80.00 on software at the beginning of the semester and Google performs the same functions that expensive software does. If only I would’ve known, I could’ve saved $80.00!

Shayla, I'm glad to hear that you enjoy working with Google Docs. It is a great way to collaborate on projects and an affordable alternative for personal and classroom use. Sorry about that $80!!
